  Be sure whomever you are working with goes over IN DETAIL the conditions of your lease ending and renewing. I am stuck paying for an increased rent payment for a whole month that I didn't live in the apartment because I gave a 40 day notice instead of a 60 day notice on a SIX month lease. This was not discussed and left undisclosed. I see the point in a 60 day notice if the lease you have is for a year or more. However, it has been my experience that with six month leases, you are typically held to a 30 day notice. Needless to say, I will no longer make that assumption. The renewal letter I received was after the sixty day mark and gave ZERO direction on how to effectively end your lease or renew your lease for that matter.
  
  As far as the apartment goes, I always felt safe. The apartment was nice with a few issues here and there. However, the reason for my two star rating is for the lack of basic courtesy with some of the people who manage the apartment complex. As someone who works with the public, I totally get how hard a job like this can be. However, you still need to be helpful and understanding when people come to you with issues, problems, and even suggestions for improvement. You guys could totally work on your customer service.
